The students have been studying Illinois' geography this week. Friday, we practiced our cartography skills by making maps of our state. Our class enjoyed a visit from Mr. Jim Bloomstrand of the Cook County Farm Bureau. He taught us so much about Illinois farming. Did you know our state leads the country in growing pumpkins??? Congrats to these students for sharing their published writing! Write on! :) We enjoyed listening to our classmate's published book. Thanks for sharing! This week in social studies we began learning about our state. We had fun using the large Illinois maps to do an A to Z scavenger hunt. The 3rd graders set some great goals for both home and school. They also enjoyed creating these little people to showcase their goals. The class enjoyed playing a new game to practice multiplication facts up to six. |
