This afternoon we learned from the experts about different climate zones. The third graders worked so hard on their research and posters. Great job! This afternoon we had an awesome assembly to promote unity in our school. We were amazed to see what we could do TOGETHER by collecting winter gear for the needy in our community. We read the story, The Mitten, by Jan Brett, got our We are GB shirts, and sang "WE ARE GB" to the tune of "We are family." It was a wonderful event! Dr. Lynn and Mrs. Paulson challenged us to build a bridge using the materials provided. The goal was the bridge had to be one inch off the table and it should be able to hold a roll of one hundred pennies. Several groups were able to meet the challenge. Some came very close! What fun we had this morning doing a little crafting! We created a special gift for our families. This week in science our focus was on learning about different climate zones. We worked in teams to become experts on one zone. We studied it's location, temperature, precipitation, plant and animal life. We are so lucky to have two buddy classes! Friday morning, Mrs. Dawson's class came upstairs to read with us. It was great fun! On Thursday, Mrs. Pelczynski's afternoon class came to our room to buddy read. They read to us, and we read to them. It was lots of fun! Dr. Lynn taught us how to give peer feedback to help our classmates to improve our severe weather mitigation designs. It was very helpful to see what our classmates like best and what we could change to make the designs even better. |
