The class enjoyed bringing a furry friend to school on Wednesday for our first class celebration. We played a memory game, drew a portrait, and read to our buddies.

We had a wonderful time on our Wendella boat ride today. Many thanks to Mrs. Garrard and Mrs. Guretz for chaperoning. We learned lots of interesting facts about our great city. We established our new teams for the month of October. Each team is named after a Chicago building. We have the Water Tower, Palmer House Hotel, the Art Institute, and the Willis Tower. After interviewing our families, students created quilt squares depicting the flag, food, and traditions of the country our family immigrants came from. Our quilt is just beautiful! Dr. Lynn visited our class to help us with Passion Time. We sorted our wonders into skinny and PHAT questions. A PHAT question means it's "pretty hard and tough". We also wrote our essential questions on the topic we're going to research. |
