A big thank you to Mrs. Croshaw for stopping by our classroom to read an awesome Earth Day book! We enjoyed the story, its message, and the flashlight reading. Many thanks! :)

The third grade scientists conducted lots of cool experiments this week while exploring the concepts of gravity, inertia, pendulums, and Newton's laws of motion. They also designed paper bridges and tested how many counters it could hold before collapsing. This week we began our new science unit called, "Forces in Motion." The third graders experimented ways to start a car moving gradually and rapidly. They also used a variety of materials to make it to stop and turn. This new Science Companion unit requires the students to document their learning through an online journal. It's very cool so far! :) Many thanks to Mrs. Guretz, Mrs. Szecsi, and Mrs. Mason for teaching the third grade Everybody Counts lesson to our class on Tuesday. We learned about developmental delays and experienced what it may feel like to have a developmental delay as we rotated to three stations. |
