Today was a celebration of reading. The third graders enjoyed visiting tons of fun reading stations throughout the day. We read with Buffalo Grove High School students, made bookmarks, had a mystery reader, read e-books in the dark, and played reading games. A big thank you to Miss Palmieri and Mrs. Fortman for planning such an awesome day.

This week we focused on making compound words during word work. Students worked in pairs to sort them. This week in science we learned that meteorologists study weather patterns to make forecasts. They collect data using various weather tools. Today, the third graders had fun making pinwheels, weather vanes, rain gauges, and anemometers. We can't wait to test them out! We had a wonderful time meeting author, Henry Cole, on Tuesday afternoon. What an incredible author and illustrator he is! We had a great time helping out our kindergarten buddies today. Together we traced and cut our hands to help create a huge American flag in honor of Veteran's Day. We also had some time to read books together. |
